Britain’s Best Small Producers Win National Awards |

The winners of the Waitrose Small Producers Awards 2006 have been presented with their Awards at The Royal Show today (Mon 3rd July) in Warwickshire. This year’s winner from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Food Groups is Sandy Rose from Two Hoots Cheese with her delicious Barkham Blue (Berkshire). Graham Cassie, Waitrose buyer responsible for the supermarket’s regional-sourcing policy, said: “It is always a pleasure seeing the passion and expertise that entrants to the Waitrose Small Producers Awards have.” The winners in each of the six categories receive £5000. The Supreme Champion of the awards also receives another £5000. Three further awards were announced at the Royal Show - the winners of the BBC Good Food magazine Best Independent Food Shop Award, the Financial Mail on Sunday Business Award and the Best Young Farmer Producer Award in association with Farmers Guardian. BBC Good Food magazine, the Financial Mail on Sunday and Farmers Guardian are partners of Waitrose in the Waitrose Small Producers Awards. |
