Susie, the owner of Susie’s Preserves Limited who founded her company in 1998 beat off competition from around the world to win the only GOLD awarded in the competition for her Clementine Marmalade, at the 6th Annual World’s Original Marmalade Festival, held at Dalemain Mansion, near Penrith, Cumbria.

Susie’s company sells her large range of jams, jellies, marmalades and pickles to farm shops, hotels, bed & breakfasts, village stores, garden centres and The National Trust. Susie also sells directly at shows, charity events and has as online website.

This prestigious award puts West Berkshire firmly on the map in the world of preserves. Susie said “I am delighted to this GOLD award for the Clementine Marmalade my hard working team makes lots of marvellous marmalade so its fantastic news, and I am so pleased that years of making a delicious preserves has resulted in international recognition."

The gold award means that one of the competition sponsors, Fortnum & Mason, has the winning Clementine Marmalade on their display and available for purchase.

Its not the first time Susie’s Preserves have won awards. In recent years, various Great Taste Awards have been won; Susie’s Mango Chutney was awarded GOLD in 2010.
