Bucks County Show 2006 |

The Bucks County Show took place on Thursday 31st August 2006, and despite warnings of traffic chaos and rain, it was a sunny day, with record numbers of entries and over 20,000 visitors. The Food Group was responsible for running one of the most popular attractions on the showground - the Food Marquee. 19 local producers bought stands in the marquee, and enjoyed a great day's trading. As last year, a separate marquee was set up for cookery demonstrations and show-goers had the chance to watch Mary Berry – famous TV chef and hugely respected cookery writer, based in Bucks - create 3 mouth-watering dishes using her home-made dressings and sauces. Audiences also packed the marquee to watch top chef Jason Woods getting creative with local ingredients, and Mary Rumsey, owner of the wonderful Rumsey’s Chocolaterie in Wendover, who showed how to make a mouth-watering hot chocolate drink with her own home-made chocolate. The show not only provides the chance to sell food and drink direct to the public, but represents a valuable marketing opportunity, where thousands of people can potentially view and taste the produce on offer. The Food Group also manned an information stand, where flyers, Food Guides, and other marketing material was given out. Three food hampers were given away to members of the public and lots of delicious tasters were available from producers. Below are some pictures from the day: click on them to enlarge.
